1,300 boxes and counting

Go '07 has exceeded our wildest expectations. Yay NewPointe! Yay God! Boxes of food are still coming in. Our best guess has us over 1,300 boxes as of right now. How cool is that?

The goal was 1,000...and many thought it couldn't be done. I love what Dwight said as he wrapped up the services yesterday: when God asks us to do what we can do, he'll do what we cannot do...that's when the miracle happens. Well, we did what we could...and God did the rest: 1,300 boxes of food.

My kids were extremely excited about reaching the goal. What I keep reminding them of is this: yeah, it's cool that we met the goal of 1,000 boxes, but the best part, the reason we did it, is that a whole bunch of people are going to be able to eat now.

I'm especially proud of all the NewPointe kids who worked so hard to gather food. I know of many kids who scoured their neighborhoods, hung out outside of grocery stores, and raided their parents' cupboards in order to fill boxes. We were all truly led by children in this effort.

If God is for us, who can be against us? We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.

Thank you, NewPointers, for all your hard work and dedication to the Go '07 project.
