just call me scrooge...

...because, believe it or not, I am not a fan of Christmas music. It just wears on me. Same songs, every year, over and over. So...with that thought in mind, I thought I'd go ahead and bring you my top seven least-favorite Christmas songs (in no particular order):

  1. The Twelve Days of Christmas. Has a more annoying song ever been written?
  2. Little Drummer Boy. Baruppapumpum this.
  3. Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer. Okay...maybe it was funny the first time I heard it (like when I was eight)...but enough already.
  4. I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas. Ahhhhh!
  5. We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Oh yeah, those are some strong lyrics right there (now bring us some figgy pudding?).
  6. Deck the Halls. Don we now our gay apparel?
  7. Santa Baby. Yeah, you can go ahead and just hurry back up the chimney with that one.

Bah humbug.

I can relate......try finding something to say during radio segments for weeks and weeks.
No easy gig there - at least I
don't have to talk about zoo
animals!!! BTW, I've never had
a desire to eat figgy pudding.

All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth.... maybe Bubba Joe, but my two front teeth are fine, as are all my friends teeth!!

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause... How traumatizing! Then the kid has to witness mommy 'tickle Santa under his beard so snowy white'

Here Comes Santa Clause...(and I quote) "Hear those sleigh bells ringing, what a beautiful sight". Are we hearing or seeing???? Then, we tell the kids 'to jump in bed and cover up your head cause Santa Clause is coming tonight'.... excuse me, but WE teach our kids that they need OXYGEN!

12 Days of a Red Neck Christmas... I guess this just brings back too many childhood memories of Christmas at Grandma's house.
***********************
Chipmunk Christmas Song... didn't playing the 45rpm on 33rpm go out along time ago?? (maybe those are backward, but you know what I mean)

Do You Hear What I Hear... yes, or I wouldn't be so tired of the song!

I actually like Christmas music. Well...most of it...when it's done well...like by Frank Sinatra.

"Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives makes me want to jab a hot knife into my ears.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas...great call, John. Had I thought of it originally, it would have made my list.
