The One Month To Live series has been huge. Sunday Dwight talked about learning humbly. The highlight of the message, obviously, was the motorcycle stunt riders riding their bikes IN CHURCH and doing jumps on stage.
Unbelievable message filled with tremendous scuds. Here are a few of them:
- We don't change when we see the light. We change when we feel the heat.
- You don't have the power to break that addiction. If you did, you would have already done it.
- When I take responsibility for my actions, scripture says that God forgives you and gives you another chance.
- We think that admitting weaknesses and shortcomings and faults disqualifies us. God says that humbly admitting those things gives us a second chance.
- We go to marriage counseling trying to fix blame rather than fixing the problem.
- We'd rather fix blame than we would take responsibility.
- What does ego mean? Edging God Out.
- Guilt holds us back from God's best.
- Some of us are afraid that if we surrender to God, he won't give us what's best.
- Most of us don't have the character to sustain the success that God wants to give us.
- The more success you have, the more temptations come your way.
- God says that when you character is in order, THEN he'll lift you. You have to surrender to God's strength.
- Your willpower will never be able to accomplish the dreams that God has put in your heart.
- If willpower could change you, you would have already been changed. The only thing that can change you is God's power.
- We think God's commands restrain us. But the truth is God's Word does just the opposite...it frees you!

I like the thing on E.G.O. - very true! Here's a funny but true quote I heard about ego the other day: "Ego is the anthesia that numbs the pain of stupidity".
Awesome quote, Jacob. thanks for sharing.
