The “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction” series continued Sunday with a great message from Dwight called, “It’s a Family Thing.” The message was extremely helpful, practical, biblical, and relevant to anyone who’s a part of a family (which pretty much includes all of us). Here are some of the scuds I jotted down.
- A good day at the office and a bad day at home does not equal a good day.
- One of the most significant gifts I can give my family is the gift of a peaceful home.
- Peace in the home begins with the husband and the wife.
- One of the greatest gifts I can give my kids is to love their mother.
- Wondering why your kids won’t submit to you? It’s because you don’t submit to your Heavenly Father.
- Your kids need your love the most at the time when you think they least deserve it.
- We need to physically love on our kids.
- If you are a Christ follower, you ought to be able to look at your kids and confidently say, “Follow my example.”
- We’ve got way too many parents in the world saying, “Do as I say, not as I do.”
- It’s not the church’s responsibility to to grow and develop your kids spiritually—it’s YOUR responsibility.
- One of the greatest things your family can do is serve together—and for you to give your kids the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.
